How does the VAT margin scheme calculation work?

When you sell a margin-scheme vehicle, Dealer Ledger works out two separate numbers. (1) Your HMRC VAT margin is the scheme selling price minus the scheme purchase price, and the margin VAT due is one sixth of that (margin × 20 ÷ 120). Reconditioning, prep and other costs do NOT reduce this. (2) Your commercial profit subtracts all of your costs (recon, prep, fees, etc.) and is shown separately. Both are displayed clearly on your dashboard and in exports.

Can my accountant access my data directly?

Yes. Invite your accountant by email and they'll get read-only access to your stock book and VAT summaries. They can view everything but can't make changes. You can also export structured packs from the export hub.

What happens after the 30-day free trial?

After your trial, you'll choose a plan — Core at £39.99/month, Pro at £79.99/month, or Group from £149/month. A card is required to start the trial; you won't be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime; if you cancel, you keep access until the end of your current billing period.
